- usually consist of paravertebral soft tissue masses(caused by extrusion of marrow through the thinned cortex of the posterior ribs)
Pt. may be asymptomatic or paraplegia from cord compression
Common anemias resulting in EMH –
congenital hemolytic anemias-thalassemia,hereditary spherocytosis,sickle cell disease
